Mark Zuckerberg wants to mentor you while you develop technology that supports immigration reform. Okay, maybe not you, unless you happen to be a coding genius and a DREAMer.
FWD.us, the organization Zuckerberg and other Silicon Valley luminaries started to promote comprehensive immigration reform, is hosting a two day DREAMer Hackathon from Wednesday, November 20 through Thursday, November 21.
The goal of the hackathon:
Each team will create a project or application that could help supporters share stories, contact members of Congress or show family and friends why they want meaningful immigration reform
LinkedIn is hosting the hackathon at their Mountain View HQ and Reid Hoffman (LinkedIn co-founder), Zuckerberg and Drew Houston (Dropbox CEO/founder) along with others will mentor teams. Winning applicants outside of the Silicon Valley area may receive scholarships for travel.
